A Valentine's Day Treat

We love to cook in this household. Most of the time it is from scratch, home made. However sometimes you need to cheat and just use a good old box of pancake mix!

Valentine's Pancakes Were Born

With some pink or red food coloring and a few marshmallows. Your kids' faces will light up.

1. Mix the batter as instructed on box and add some pink food coloring. I would stay away from purple it always looks brown after its been cooked

2. Pour the pancake batter into the buttered pan on medium heat. If it is too hot it will turn brown and not stay that pretty pink.

Flip when the pancake forms bubbles

3. Use a heart shape cookie cutter or a knife if you are artsy to make heart shape pancakes.

4. Make a little home made frosting with powdered sugar (3/4) and water(1/4). If you have a can of frosting with a little left in your fridge, that will work too. Add a few drops of red or pink food coloring.

If you have some mini marshmallows now is the time to pull them out.

5. My daughter loves dippy eggs! So.... I also placed the cutout section back in the pan and cracked two eggs inside of the heart holes of the pancake.

6. Stack and decorate those pancakes and eggs. This would be the time the kids could help drizzle some pink frosting, throw on some marshmallows or maybe even some chocolate syrup.

7. SERVE THOSE PANCAKES

In the end you will have a happy family. This will make for a great Valentine's Day dinner as well! Cupid would be proud! You may even get a "wow, thank you" from your teenager!

Are you going to try these today?....Wilson Wonders
