DIY Aloe Soap

It was a cold day in Michigan and we were getting a little cabin fever. So my Daughter Sophia and I decided to make some soap. It was a great way to spend some creative time together!

Here is ingredients and the process below.

Supplies Needed:

-Aloe Plant Leaves

If you don't have any at home,Walmart does sell them in their produce department.

-A Soap Mold

We bought ours on Amazon and it also came with a Soap Knife.

They are on sale right now!!!!!

-A Rubber Spatula

-Hot Pads

to remove bowl used to melt soap

Melted Soap Base is Hot(needs parental assistance)

-A Cutting Board

-Microwave

-Blender

Step 1:

Cut up the Aloe into pieces that fit your blender.

Blend Aloe into a goo like consistency.

Step 2:

Cut up the Soap Base into blocks and microwave in 20 second .

Step 3:

Pour the melted Soap Base into the blender with the blended Aloe.

Step 4: Blend together

You want a 50/50 Soap Base to Aloe ratio

Step 5: Pour into Soap Mold

Step 6: Place in refrigerator overnight.

Step 7: Remove from Soap Mold

Step 8: Cut into blocks and allow to harden up for 14 days

After Our Soap had hardened up we cut it into smaller blocks and stored in glass jars in the cupboard.

So now you have a great moisturizing Aloe Soap. It is also great in the summer when your skin has seen the sun a little too long. Pull out a cube and use it in the shower. It will help reduce the sunburn on your face and shoulders.

Here is a video of us making it with the step by step.
